
Kelly Magyarics is a wine educator and wine and spirits writer. She has been offering interactive, educational wine tastings and classes for private and corporate groups for over eight years.
Kelly has extensive wine and spirits knowledge and training. She completed Kevin Zraly’s Windows on the World School in New York City, as well as a series of Master classes offered by the Sommelier Society of America. Kelly holds an Intermediate and an Advanced Certificate in Wine and Spirits from the renowned Wine and Spirit Education Trust (WSET), having received a score of “Pass With Distinction” on both exams (the highest level of scoring.) She is currently working towards the WSET’s Diploma program. Kelly is BarSmarts certified.
Kelly is a frequent contributor to Wine Enthusiast, and her articles also appear in Imbibe, DC Magazine, Nightclub & Bar, Cheers and The Tasting Panel, among others. She is the co-columnist for the Vino column in Northern Virginia Magazine. Her blog and monthly newsletter, “Kelly’s Grape Times,” offers wine, beer and spirits tips, reviews, news, suggestions and food pairing advice. Kelly Tweets under the username @kmagyarics.
Kelly and her company have been featured in several Washington, DC media outlets. Her business was profiled in the “Making It” column of The Washington Post’s Sunday Magazine. She appears on wine-related segments on DC’s Fox 5, WUSA 9 CBS and News Channel 8, and she has also appeared on WTOP radio’s “Dishing It Out.” In 2008, Kelly served as a celebrity judge for the Old Ebbitt Grill’s annual “Wines with Oysters” competition.
Kelly is a member of Les Dames d’Escoffiers, an invitation-only organization for women in the fields of food, fine beverages and hospitality.
